Family Management of Diabetes Study (FMOD)
Working closely with the Prevention Research Branch (PRB) within NICHD, JBA is providing centralized capacity to support the implementation of this multi-site behavioral clinical trial to improve treatment adherence and glycemic control among adolescents with Type 1 diabetes. The medical regimen for diabetes is complicated, which creates challenges with adherence for any individual with diabetes. Adolescence is a particularly difficult stage for young people with diabetes both due to physiological changes and to the need to transition diabetes management responsibilities from the parent to the child. JBA provides support for all aspects of study design, pilot testing of selected measures and interventions and full-scale implementation of this ground-breaking clinical trial.
