HHS Evaluation Review Panel
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services(HHS) Annual Evaluation Report, or Performance Improvement Series, is submitted by the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation in response to a Congressional request for information on evaluations completed and planned by DHHS' various operational and staff divisions. The HHS Evaluation Review Panel is responsible for selecting evaluations put forward by HHS agencies in the past year that have general relevance or are of interest to a wide audience for inclusion in the Performance Improvement Report to Congress. JBA provided support to ASPE on this critical evaluation project for three consecutive years. Specifically, JBA assisted in organizing the panel, provided logistical support for the review panel meeting (including meeting facilitation) and prepared summaries of the reports and quality issues identified in the reviews for inclusion as chapters in the report to Congress. JBA also prepared a synthesis of the common strengths and weaknesses ascertained from the evaluations reviewed by the Panel.
