Child Abuse Cases that Result in Civil and Criminal Action and Justice System Processing of Child Welfare Cases
JBA conducted a set of related studies funded by Administration on Children, Youth and Families (ACYF) and later supported with additional funds from the National Institute of Justice. These projects—Child Abuse Cases that Result in Civil and Criminal Action, and Justice System Processing of Child Welfare Cases—explored the flow of cases through the child protective services (CPS), law enforcement, and court systems. The findings from these studies were presented in a final report along with policy-oriented summaries published by the National Institute of Justice.
