Evaluation of OHRP (Office of Human Research Protections) Educational Activities
JBA is conducting this evaluation for OHRP, which oversees the national system of IRBs that approve human research protocols. The rapid growth and diversification of human research over the past two decades has challenged the capacity of OHRP to train and respond to the needs of ever-increasing numbers of new health care researchers and Institutional Review Board members, as well as address turnover among experienced researchers. In the design phase of the evaluation, JBA conducted phone discussions with human research protections stakeholders, formed a Technical Advisory Work Group, and consulted with OHRP staff to develop the evaluation plan. Web-based and hard-copy surveys that evaluated current training presentations and assessed future educational needs were also administered.
