Research Resources & Administration
To date, JBA has conducted more than 25 projects focusing on biomedical and behavioral health research infrastructure resources and grants administration systems and procedures. Sponsored mostly by the National Institutes of Health, these projects—dating back to the late 1980s—have spanned: exploratory and full-scale evaluations of protections for human research subjects; research career development awards; discretionary funds for pilot research; shared-use scientific instrumentation; and general clinical research centers. JBA has also conducted studies of innovations in grants administration, such as electronic applications and support services for NIH intramural investigators, biomedical engineering services, medical arts services, central computing resources, and veterinary resources.
