Child Welfare & Family Services

JBA has conducted over 50 child welfare studies and evaluations for Federal and state agencies, including the Children's Bureau, the National Institute of Justice, the Administration for Children and Families, and the Kansas Department of Social and Rehabilitation Services. JBA's projects have addressed all aspects of the child welfare field, including: child maltreatment prevention; adoption services, including efforts to increase adoptions of children in the child welfare system; foster parent recruitment, training, and retention; major system reform initiatives in the child welfare field; waivers of Title IV-E funds used for foster care maintenance and adoption assistance to test new service delivery approaches; and child welfare agencies' implementation of practice changes following new state or Federal legislation.
