Navy Supports New Home Visitor Training by JBA

The Department of the U.S. Navy, Commander of the Naval Installations Command, Fleet and Family Support Programs, awarded JBA a contract to conduct a training presentation on June 26, 2018, to the New Parent Support Home Visitation Program. The program provides voluntary free services to eligible military families who are expecting a baby or have children up to age 3.

Jill Filene, executive vice president of JBA, will deliver the presentation, titled “The Home Visiting Ripple Effects.” It will provide home visitors with evidence-based tools and models to improve outcomes among children and families. Home visitors will also have a venue to share best practices and prevention strategies.

The New Parent Support Home Visitation Program helps families meet the challenges of parenthood while balancing the unique demands of military life. Topics include coping with stress, nurturing children to promote their growth and development, and locating community services and resources.
