Michael Henson, Ph.D.

Research Associate

Michael HensonMichael Henson has more than 5 years of experience in child welfare and health research and evaluation. Areas of expertise include evaluation and research design, qualitative and mixed methodologies, policy analysis, and community-engaged research. His knowledge and experience span child welfare policy, services, and systems change; organizational capacity building; and community health.

Henson currently works on the Technical Assistance on Evaluation for Discretionary Grant Programs project. He also supports data collection and analysis, as well as product development, for the Cross-Center Evaluation of the Child Welfare Capacity Building Collaborative project.

Prior to joining JBA, Henson was a postdoctoral scholar at the Florida Institute for Child Welfare. He received a joint Ph.D. in social work and anthropology and an M.S.W. from Wayne State University.
