Tyesha Gibbs Amerson, M.P.H.
Research and Continuous Quality Improvement AssociateTyesha Gibbs Amerson has more than 15 years of experience in maternal and child health, including early care and education and early intervention with children with special health care needs. She brings to JBA expertise in data and program evaluation, technical assistance, and continuous quality improvement (CQI).
At JBA, Amerson provides research and CQI support across practice areas. As part of the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Technical Assistance Resource Center, she guides awardees in building their capacity in performance measurement and CQI. She also cofacilitates a community expert group with the Institute for Home Visiting Workforce Development and Jackie Walorski Center for Evidence-Based Case Management.
Previously, she conducted interviews/focus groups and analyzed qualitative data for the Home Visiting Assessments of Implementation Quality project.
Prior to joining JBA, Amerson worked as a home visitor, program supervisor, and program manager for the Alabama Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Award Program. She received a B.A. in political science from Tuskegee University and an M.P.H. in maternal and child health policy and leadership from The University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Public Health.
