Early Childhood

A resting man holds his infant child.

A child’s earliest years set the course for healthy development.

Supporting children as young as infants and toddlers, particularly those considered at risk for future problems, can promote positive behaviors and outcomes.

JBA examines the effects of early childhood development programs on children and families and assesses program implementation and functioning. We study policies and practices at the local, state, and federal levels and provide technical assistance to strengthen programs and facilitate rigorous evaluation.
