Elev8 Baltimore partners with local schools and community members to prepare students to succeed in high school and beyond. Its Freedom Schools program immerses students in grades K–12 in culturally diverse literature that highlights local artists and authors. Youth play an active role designing the program, which spans 6 weeks over the summer.

JBA is helping Elev8 Baltimore prepare for a robust outcomes and impact evaluation of the Freedom Schools program. The project team works closely with Freedom Schools staff to—

  • Develop a logic model and theory of change
  • Recommend changes to enhance evaluation readiness
  • Propose research questions, outcome measures, and data sources to guide evaluation planning
