Data System Improvement Toolkit, Module 4: Displaying and Reporting Data

This is the fourth of five modules in the Data System Improvement Toolkit. The toolkit was developed for grantees of the Tribal Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program to help them strengthen their data systems. It may also be useful for other programs in the human services, education, and early childhood fields.

Module 4 helps programs—

• Improve the accuracy of system-generated reports
• Integrate and share data across systems
• Access timely program data for ongoing monitoring

The introduction to Module 4 outlines its goals and terminology before providing an overview of available tools, including guides to system integration and data dashboards. There are also sample data dashboards using “real-world” information and a tool for determining how existing reports pull in and calculate data.
