The Interagency Task Force on Trauma-Informed Care is studying ways to improve the government's response to trauma among children and families and shape trauma-informed care.

JBA is partnering with A-G Associates to investigate three key areas to support the task force’s goals.

Research. We are systematically analyzing published research reviews of evidence-based interventions to identify effective strategies for reducing the consequences of trauma exposure, as well as relevant measures and methodologies.

Federal coordination. We are conducting an environmental scan of programs, legislation, and funding announcements to understand the scope and reach of trauma-informed care efforts across the government and establish common language. Stakeholder interviews provide insight into facilitators and barriers to cross-agency collaboration.

Data. Another area of focus is how agencies, grantees, and researchers can leverage data to advance trauma-informed efforts. This environmental scan focuses on understanding available measures, tools, and definitions related to trauma-informed care included in federal grantee data reporting systems, and the federal laws and policies that govern information sharing.

We will present the findings to two expert panels and develop white papers to inform task force recommendations.
