Reflective supervision is widely recommended to help home visitors process the stressors and emotions of working with families. Few resources exist, however, to help supervisors implement or assess their use of reflective supervision in the home visiting context.
These resources introduce the Supervisor Practices in Reflective Supervision–Home Visiting (SuPRS–HV), a measure of reflective supervision developed for the home visiting workforce. SuPRS–HV measures both the content discussed and specific reflective supervision practices used during a single session. The project team engaged home visitors and supervisors in creating the measure to ensure it incorporates their experiences and perspectives.
The introductory video below describes the measure development process, suggested uses of the SuPRS—HV in research and practice, and related resources.
