Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting (MIECHV) Innovation awards support states in strengthening home visiting services to improve outcomes for children and families. More than $15 million was awarded in fiscal year 2022 to improve service delivery and help alleviate the impact of COVID-19 on families and the home visiting workforce.

In collaboration with Education Development Center, JBA supports implementation and evaluation in home visiting among innovation awardees and across MIECHV programs. Activities include—

  • Providing technical assistance on topics like evaluation design and analysis
  • Implementing a learning collaborative
  • Developing resources such as webinars, toolkits, checklists, tip sheets, videos, podcasts, blog posts, and issue briefs
  • Reporting on progress, challenges, and next steps
  • Conducting an environmental scan to identify potential best practices

This work builds on past projects including the MIECHV Technical Assistance Resource Center, Design Options for Home Visiting Evaluation, and Support for MIECHV Program Awardees to Build Capacity for Performance Measurement and Continuous Quality Improvement.
