This guiding framework identifies eight promotive factors to strengthen the home visiting workforce.

Illustration of a tree with the label promotive factors in the trunk. Eight pieces of the framework surround the trunk designed to look like leaves of a tree. From the bottom left to bottom right, those sections read, workforce pathways, adequate compensation, resources and support, career advancement, flexibility and autonomy, relationships and connections, workforce voice, and validation and recognition.Informed by extensive literature and resource reviews; established conceptual models; and direct engagement with home visitors, supervisors, and program administrators, the eight factors are:

  1. Accessible pathways into the workforce
  2. Adequate and fair compensation
  3. Resources and support
  4. Opportunities for career advancement
  5. Flexibility and autonomy
  6. Relationships and connections
  7. Workforce voice
  8. Validation and recognition
