Generation Hope Scholar Program Evaluation
The Generation Hope Scholar Program helps teen parents earn their college degrees while balancing school and parenthood. Offerings include mentoring, tuition assistance, a peer community, and other wraparound services.
JBA is evaluating the program to understand the relationship between services and participant outcomes, and to build the evidence base for two-generation programs. We are leading a formative evaluation, summative evaluation, and program-level cost study.
Project activities include—
- Developing an implementation guide
- Designing evaluation methods and plans
- Conducting quantitative analyses of administrative data
- Conducting and analyzing qualitative interviews with scholars, coaches, and mentors
- Reporting and disseminating findings
We are also engaging current participants in an advisory committee to integrate lived experience into all aspects of the project.
JBA previously helped Generation Hope build on its success by preparing for evaluation and scale-up.
